How To Solder Two Small Wires Together
There are three main ways to solder wires together.
How to solder two small wires together. Just like you would do with two solid wires. Place the tip of the iron on the wire and let it heat for a few seconds. Twist and fold twisted helix and lineman splice.
The wires are so small that the solder doesnt really stick so what you have to do is as quickly as possible melt the solder onto the iron but with the joint DIRECTLY in the middle of the two. There are multiple techniques for splicing wires without solder that result in a tight wrap including some that overlap the wires before twisting to give a larger overall spliced area. Use a thin solid wire 28 AWG-30 AWG and wrap it around both wires.
A solder join - wires twisted together not so good. For low voltage applications fan out the copper strands and then twist them together. When done properly you have a strong conductive connection that turns two separate wires into one.
Soldering Two Wires. Touch the tip of the soldering iron to the copper wires. Leave a correctly sized solder gap between insulation and solder joint.
This process should melt the solder and coat both wires evenly. Heat the pads and melt a small amount of solder on to each pad and let it cool. How to Solder Two Small Wires - YouTube.
