How To Use Piping Tip Coupler

How to use piping tip coupler. You can also use a coupler if you want to give your tip a little more stability. Youll go through a lot of frosting and wont want to constantly be refilling. Grab the ring and screw it back onto the coupler securing the decorating tip in place.
This is the fastest way to do it if you want to use the same color with different tips. A general rule of thumb is to trim the bag so that the first thread of the coupler shows. After you have trimmed your bag you can position the coupler add your tip and screw the ring on over the tip.
Place the new tip inside a fresh piping bag. Try a tip coupler. However couplers are needed if youre planning to use more than one tip with your piping bag.
Draw a small horizontal line on the outside of the pastry bag just above the opening of the piping tip inside the bag. Next prepare your different icing colors in smaller bags without tips. Remove ring from coupler base.
You can then place the smaller bags inside the larger bag and switch them out when you want to change colors or tips. Cut the bag just past the end of the coupler. You can use this coupler to create beautiful 3 color designs like in the photo below.
But I prefer to cut a little less better safe than sorry. This system fits inside cake decorating bags or cones and allows you to use the same icing with different tips. The two-piece coupler allows you to switch tips without getting a new bag.
