Can You Use Bleach On Clothes That Aren't All White
Decreasing the iron and mineral content of water can greatly lessen the yellowing the bleach can.
Can you use bleach on clothes that aren't all white. Im a bleach user mostly on socks. Ive never paid attention to care labels on whites. Chlorine bleach and oxygen bleach.
Mix 1 12 teaspoons of bleach with 14 cup of water. As im not too shore as its been awhile since i had too use the product in questionmy best advise that i can give tell you is too always test it on the surface item your going to use it on if its a coloured item use a diluted solution as too much causes bleach burn. All-white laundry can be bleached with chlorinated bleach.
Only use bleach on cotton and look for other ways to whiten other types of fabrics. The rest in the white bottles are all different varieties mostly just different scents of chlorine. Before using bleach with laundry that isnt all white test the fabric for colorfastness.
Lay out your piece of clothing on a hard surface that wont be affected by the bleach. For coloured laundry sort the clothing into lights and darks as the dye from darker clothing could stain the lighter clothing. Also I prefer Borax and hydrogen peroxide to bleach.
Im wondering if its because bleach really breaks down the fabric. If you have ever tossed a white T-shirt in the washing machine with red towels you have probably seen how the red dye from the towels turned the shirt pink. Hydrochloride itself the main component in bleach after water is extremely toxic when pure but the lower the concentration the lower the toxicity and it is already fairly diluted in bleach.
However due to such concentration it can also ruin the fabric color. Sometimes the secret of clean white clothes arent the expensive bleaches and other laundry products. It can be used in warm and cold water but you may not see the results you expect.
